Kwalata Safaris is a South African based outfitter organizing selective hunting Safaris for international clients in South Africa, Mozambique and other African destinations since 1988. Kwalata is owned and operated by Jaco Strauss, a well-respected veteran of the industry who guarantees an exceptional experience for returning hunters and newcomers alike.
My passion for nature and firm believes in consumptive based management plans as conservation tools, is the basis of all I do. My hardworking never say die attitude contributes immensely to my hunting companions’ satisfaction and success.
‘Always respect the animal you hunt, big or small’ – that is the first and probably most important thing my father taught me about hunting.
“I always say if you are going on Safari in Africa, regardless of location, remember to adapt to the pace of Nature. That is when you feel the most alive and free and never let a slow day get you down because you just don’t know what is waiting around the next corner.”
Kwalata operates primarily from our Limpopo based hunting area where we have exclusive rights to over 128 square kilometres of untouched African wilderness, promising quality trophies managed with immense care for decades. Alternatively, Kwalata is renowned for its Mozambican Safaris which Jaco himself guides for clients who wish to hunt the wild Africa of which books are written.

Kwalata Safaris is primarily a hunting operator or outfitter. However, as lovers of adventure and the outdoors, we also extend our offerings to include photographic Safaris and fishing trips. Africa has so much to offer, and it would be a waste not to invite our guests to take advantage of it all.
Our photographic Safaris and tours can be custom made to fit your preferences. You may also choose to embark on these trips before or after your hunting trip. We do however advise you to contact us well in advance should you wish to extend your trip beyond your hunt so that we can ensure everything is in place.
